Safous ZTA DNS feature allows users to customize and manage DNS suffixes within their environment, enabling streamlined access to resources. This feature simplifies navigation, ensures consistency in resource access, and reduces the need for users to remember or manually enter full domain names. As a prerequisite, connecting via the Safous Agent is mandatory to use the DNS feature.
Accessing DNS Configuration
- Login to https://portal.safous.com
- Navigate to Settings > ZTNA > Configuration > DNS
- List of DNS configuration shown with below details
(1) "Add Search Domain" button, to add your DNS Suffix and use it in Safous environment
(2) List of Configured DNS suffix
(3) Action of each DNS configured, "Delete" button to delete existing DNS configuration
Creating New DNS Configuration
- Click "Add Search Domain" button
- it will expand forms to be fulfilled for new search domain configuration
- When filling the DNS configuration follow these rules and consider below:
- Add your root domain in Suffix field
- Configuring the DNS suffix affected to all of the users that connected via Agent
- Click "Save" at the bottom and pop-up notification for the Search Domain has been successfully added will be shown
User or Client Experience
Configuring DNS suffix or Search Domain will affect to users that connected via Safous Agent. To check if the configuration is applied succesfully follow these steps:
- Connect and Login via Safous Agent
- Ensure Safous Agent is connected
- Check by nslookup or access URL directly without root domain. In this article, i was configured "safous.com" in DNS. If I was querying "support", it should automatically redirect to "support.safous.com"
