Create RDP-based Application

  1. Login to https://portal.safous.com
  2. Go to Settings> ZTNA
  3. In Application, choose Applications
  4. Click New Application, then fill in the fields:

    • (1) Fill Name information, which is the required filed and must be unique value with other application
    • (2) Fill Application Address/FQDN/Hostname for your internal business app that you will mapped by using IP format (192.168.1.100), FQDN (app1.coba.lan) or hostname (app1)
    • (3) Select Site is optional as you could leave it using "all" but for multisite deployment it's recommended to choose the correct site based on the application location
    • (4) Access URL will automatically created based on Name, but it's customizable.
    • (5) Toggle visible. default is enabled. If disabled, then the app will not appear in the user portal. 
    • (6) Icon will automatically populated if there is a standard HTTP/S application, but you could custom it if you want by upload the icon
    • (7) Category is optional, it just to make more organized application type tag which by default it will use uncategorized tag. For more information please find here
    • (8) Next, ensure that the Protocols is "RDP"
    • (9) You need to choose at least one Connection Method for the RDP based application
    • (10) Port, by default it will use standard RDP port (3389) but you can change it
    • (11) Initial Program is optional, it will need RDS, remote desktop session host, user, gpo, and other configuration before you can use it (Please refer to Microsoft KB)
    • (12) Single sign on is optional, but RDP-based App by default can support SSO.
  5. Once every field has been filled and choose, the only thing to do is click "Save".

Note: 

  1. RDP Application using Web-Access method can support recording and SSO
  2. RDP Application using Native-Access method can support recording and SSO if the feature "Enhanced Native RDP" is enabled. 
  3. To enable it, go to Setting > ZTNA > Configuration > Application. Then toggle ON "Enhanced Native RDP". Please see the tooltip to see limitation of this feature on Windows 2008. Also please note that this feature is still in beta version.
